Table and Merge Workshops (MS Word)

Prerequisites:

All attendees must have attended an Intro to Word course as a minimum requirement, as this course is intended for confident users of Microsoft Word. This course is also suitable for those who have attended Intermediate Word and may need to review working with tables, and those who don’t have the time or need to attend the full Advanced Word course.

Contents & Methodology:

This workshop is targeted at those who must work with tables or setup documents for merging. A manual is included in this course based on the contents listed below.

Working with Tables:

  • How to insert a table
  • How to format a table
  • How to change column widths in a table
  • How to alphabetically sort in a table
  • How to add up in a table
  • Merging heading cells in tables
  • Inserting tables and rows
  • Distribute columns equally
  • Table AutoFormat

Document Merge:

  • Setting up a datafile of merge data
  • Setting up the Merge letter or document
  • Merging a Word datafile and letter to creat multiple files
  • The Merge toolbar
  • Merging with an Excel file
  • Merging to labels
